Most of the people, Most of the time: "We'll wait 'cos waiting's what we do We'll wait 'cos waiting's seen us through So far So good." So sick of waiting. So fucking sick. No. You'll wait, you'll wait, for someone else to set you free You'll wait, you'll wait, but no-one else will set you free See I crawl, and beg And lap, and dance And fawn, and suck Yet listen to what they're telling me "Calm down. Calm down." (They're telling me) "Calm down." You ask yourself "why set myself to fail when I can just stow away?" (I understand...) You're scared... whisper it (I understand...) You're scared... whisper it But who's left to say "This isn't right"? Get me a witness, call me a witness Come here, stand up , let's finish what we started Let's remember the departed as we gather strength From victories past Come here, stand up, let's finish what we started Let's honour those who've parted, who live on In memories cast In deeds that last Remember: "Free at last" This African son can still remember the burn Of an African sun in a forgotten land This is The Third World, could be another world Under an African sun in a forgotten land But who's left to say "This isn't right"? Get me a witness, call me a witness The light in your eyes has faded with the dulling ache of compromise but one day we'll say: "This is where we were, this what we saw This is who we were, this is what we heard": Will you regret it? We'll ask "What did we do?" The time is... NOW. How do you even know that you're alive? I've never felt this much alive... (x3) with this devotion I've never felt this much alive... (x3) with this emotion Sometimes you've got to shout it out Sometimes you've got to... (the time is...) Otherwise you'll see what we'll become You'll see what we'll become See what we'll become We've got to keep the dream alive I've never felt so much alive Am I alone like this? Am I afraid of this? Am I a fool to feel this? Am I alone? So now you see It's up to us I've never felt so much alive

20/20 04:59
20/20 Can't you see it's burning? Some days are easier I nearly make it all the way The thoughts I shouldn't think Sink to the bottom and get buried away The dregs are all I have left And like an addict I pine But when my passions get stirred I see clearer than before What I thought I saw was A child burned by water A woman drowning in oil It's a beautiful picture But what did I learn? I must have been high 'cos Though my vision was blurred I saw everything... much clearer than before Will we sink to the bottom? D'you think we'll sink to the bottom? If I remembered the answers I would give them to you, I would give them to you What I thought I heard was (I would give them to you) A man crying for joy (I would give them to you) Another laughing in pain (I would give them to you) The roof is on fire (I would give them to you) I'm watching it burn (I would give them to you) Selling out. Running out. Drowning out. Burning out. This world. Can't you see where we're going? This future we're making That we're driving Over the edge I will sell you an issue I will have to sell you an issue Because these men don't understand anything That isn't measured in dollars and cents Like "can I help you?" "Can I help you, brother?" If we had had the answers Would we throw them away, throw them away? What I thought I saw was (Would we throw them away?) My child paying for air..? (Would we throw them away?) The roof is on fire (Would we throw them away?) I'm watching it burn (Would we throw them away?) Can't you see it's burning? Can't you see where we're going? This future we're making That we're driving Over the edge Drive on. (I'm over it) Drive on. (I'm over it) Drive. (I'm over it) Drive. (I'm over it)

(The Tort Of) False Light "So tell me, WHERE are you going to go? and WHO you are you going to call?" She's falling She's falling for it again. She's falling. This is where I get off. It's not an issue What you've fallen into But it's not love IT'S NOT LOVE But love may rescue This world split in two Though it burns ...your son But if you close your eyes You won't miss a thing, so DON'T WAKE ME UP FROM THIS DREAM. This man. Has descended. This man. Has devolved. This man. Has rescinded. This man. Has devolved. No amount of sophistry No amount of technical wizardry No amount of liberal history Will re-dress This Naked Ape. All he can say is "It won't happen again" All you can do is Wait for it to happen again I can't help you I can't help you I can't help you Take these chains off now (I've watched your light as it fades A fate your heart struggles to contain That same light that burns your eyes It's your rope, your thread to survive Just remember that you're not on your own Tell yourself you're not on your own) It's not an issue What you've fallen into But it's not love IT'S NOT LOVE But love may rescue This world split in two Though it burns ...your son Even if its fiction Words sometimes lead to actions Where do I draw the line? Maybe she's seen the light No, she's falling She's falling for it again She's falling This is where I get off

Waiting For The Cull ---------------------------- Do you still sleep with the lights on? Stop pretending like you care, like you give a shit Stop pretending like you care, as if you give a fuck What happens next I'm getting tired of waiting (How do you keep your act up?) Even if denial's titillating Let's welcome the dogs of hell in 'Cos I'm getting tired of waiting Let me tell you how it is How it's going to be Where the chips will fall When the room runs out on the ship 'n the mask of civilization begins to slip When we're running out of lifeboats When we're running scared and frightened Very few are gonna make it And frankly... that's the best part of it Stop pretending like you care, like you give a shit Stop pretending like you care, as if you give a fuck What happens to us Come Into the fire Dance with me in the fire Hooray! Happy birthday. But you're still searching..? Still holding out for change... Change... Change you can hold in your hand... Waiting for the end Just like everyone you want to be a part of it Crawling over bodies just to be "Someone" I'm just like everyone I won't deny it I'm just like you, I don't deny it Waiting for the end to come I'll tell you a secret: I've been rooting for this WAITING FOR THE END WAITING FOR THE END TO COME JUST LIKE EVERYONE YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF IT CRAWLING OVER BODIES JUST TO BE SOMEONE I'M JUST LIKE EVERYONE I WON'T DENY IT I'M JUST LIKE YOU, I DON'T DENY IT Just waiting for the end Don't deny me this DON'T DENY ME

about

HARDCORE ALTERNATIVE ROCK FROM LONDON'S DIY STALWARTS

'Hear No Evil' is Djevara's latest studio album (or, more accurately, the second part of it), and the first to feature the current line-up. More polished and progressive than what had come before, the record is still captures the raw punk energy that Djevara fans have come to expect. After almost self-combusting both internally and externally in creating part 1, the band used part 2 as the start of the fight back and in the process may have created their most ambitious record to date. The time is now.

"Good isn't a word to be wheeled out when magnificent is still available. Djevara, right here, right now, are magnificent."
- UNPEELED.NET

"their power, their emotion, the way they turn their limitations into a great big positive and that sum of the whole does make Djevara, their new album and everything that they stand for, absolutely vital. This is a brave honest refreshing committed album, a raw album, a very ambitious album, and ultimately... a triumph of an album. Few would have the guts to even try it." - ORGAN 'THING OF THE DAY' " - ORGAN ART (awarded "THING OF THE DAY")

"powerful as all Hell...'Hear No Evil' is chaotic hardcore that's as emotionally charged as it is socially aware, with particular impact from an account of domestic violence in 'The Tort Of False Light'."
ROCK SOUND

"brilliantly produced, well constructed and mature examples of an approach to songwriting which owes as much to Fugazi, At The Drive-In and Million Dead as it does to the aforementioned Rage... the arrangements [are] dynamic and varied [and] they also know how to produce a lightning rod of a riff as well when such a moment is called for, and how to build their compositions to powerful crescendos. Djevara have already achieved an impressive amount off their own backs; 'Hear No Evil' is testament to that"
SUBBA CULTCHA

"Musically the Brit trio have produced a record which is as powerful as the lyrical sentiments it promotes...
A heartfelt and powerful release, effectively delivering the band's message and leaving you with more to think about than just six excellent slabs of heavy duty rock you can get lost in." 12/13
- ROOM THIRTEEN

"Djevara are a kick ass progressive HC band that really do deliver the goods - 9/10"
- STREETVOICE UK
